Responsible projects

We ALL need to be aware and have respect for our planet and the people and communities that inhabit it. At Destination Unlimited, we have been recognising this and implementing ‘Responsible Tourism’ for many years now.

Within the MICE industry, it is the challenge of blending our client’s commercial objectives with positive cultural exchanges in the communities of the visited country, city or village. Our responsibility towards our clients is to ensure that they are very well briefed before a departure. By doing so thoroughly, everyone reaps a greater understanding and receives in exchange enlightening results.

Responsible tourism is not about hardship in basic accommodation. It is about helping communities to develop and fully utilise their available resources, raising awareness across cultures, with respect to the environment and each other, ultimately … enriching lives. No matter what its objective, local communities benefit, they provide positive interactions, and the experience profoundly touches the lives of every person involved, magnifying a greater understanding between different cultures.

We work closely with our suppliers to create the most balanced experience for our client and the communities we visit. Together with our DMCs, we creatively put together a suitable program, working hand in hand with NGOs and villagers; educating local governments and communities. Everyone involved prospers from the unique feeling of doing ‘something special’ and making a positive change.

Whether it be environmentally, or socially or economically, we all must understand and be responsible for our actions … the responsibility cannot be outsourced! The bottom line: we can ALL make a difference, for ourselves, for our clients but also for the children of the world … our future world!

At Destination Unlimited, a percentage of our annual company profit goes to two reputed NGO’s. The two we have chosen to support in particular are Handicap International, Doctors without Borders, otherwise known as MSF.
