Bruno Leunen and Phil Sammut first crossed paths in 1989, as founding members of the Conference and Incentive Division within American Express.
In 1997, they used this solid foundation to create Destination Unlimited, a rock-solid company ever since, with a dream team sharing the same passion!
Phil and Bruno have taken on other professional challenges, Phil in his home country of Malta and Bruno in Myanmar, where he will continue to develop our “Destination Rally” division.
Together with both veteran and new talent, Ellen Van den Branden and the entire team continue to operate with the same boundless passion, quality and professionalism that have propelled the company for 20 years.
This enthusiastic and dynamic journey is reflected in the respect the company has earned within the travel and meeting industry, and in the fruitful, long-standing relationships that Destination Unlimited has established with clients and business partners all over the world.
From the day Ellen selected Destination Unlimited for her internship, almost twenty years ago, it has been clear to everyone that she was here to stay. Dedicated and driven, Ellen’s middle name is Passion! Always ready to push her limits to the maximum.
She has grown and developed rapidly within the DU team, adept at energizing the entire team. She’s a finger-on-the-pulse kind of woman.
With her “glass half full” attitude, she is a breath of fresh air and clients warm instantly to her endless enthusiasm for travel.
With two young rascals at home, she remains a child at heart.
It all began a few years ago, when two people got together to talk about Burma. After travelling through the country, they had made up their minds ! "We should organize a vintage car rally in the Burmese countryside…" And so it began.
Destination Rally is the result of a vision to organize an historical event in a country that not so long ago was considered off limits.
Bruno Leunen, founder of Destination Unlimited, really put his shoulder to it to launch this great adventure, and in November of 2013, the first nine cars left Yangon, for what would be the first of many more vintage car rallies to come worldwide.
Bruno now lives in Burma to concentrate fully on his rally dream.
For more information on the upcoming rallies, go and have a look at the Destination Rally website.
With a proven track record in communications for a pharmaceutical company, Sandrine changed to the travel business with great enthusiasm and brought exceptionally strong skills with her to the DU team. A keen learner, she has excelled in her new role and has introduced not only new clients but also new strategies to daily office management. With her natural flair and skill in written French language, she does an outstanding job with all of our external communications. Efficiency is her forte, she is an excellent time manager. She is a role model to us all and naturally a pleasure for clients and suppliers to work with.
As do many Belgians, she and her children love the mountains and skiing. She has a soft spot for horse riding and is a regular at the gym; needless to say, she is one of the fittest on the team !
Previously with American Express, Odile has worked alongside Bruno and Phil since 1990! She was part of the Destination Unlimited start-up. Thanks to her vast experience and professionalism, clients and team members can count on her precious knowledge and keen eye for detail. She is our office "flight fairy", a genius when it comes to booking flights on the Amadeus system, always amazing us with how she does it with such sophistication and speed. Perpetually considerate and loyal, Odile never fails to support other members of the team and our valued clients … a true gem!
As a French wine expert, she enjoys trips across the borders with her family to discover a hidden vineyard or perhaps for some après-ski in the mountains. Together with her husband she also shares a passion for old-timer cars and is Bruno's right hand when it comes to our Destination Rally division!
Meeting planners, are you in search for a caterpillar to assist you in the planning of your next event? Than look no further! Marina is a true organisation talent, who gets her adrenaline out of listings, structures and complex processes. After her bachelor in sociology-anthropology, she decided to change and develop her organisation skills by studying event management. Our luck was in when Marina applied for her internship in October 2015, after which we decided to never let her go!
Coming from a tiny village, near the German border, besides being perfectly bilingual German and French, she of course is fluent in English and Dutch. She loves to be in nature and has a passion for reading. Only started travelling after her 19th birthday, Marina is eager to discover the world in all its beauty ever since!
As of August 2017, we can officially announce Mikel as our creative marketing brain. It was already clear from his internship in October 2016, that he was here to stay and become part of our D.U. family!
Thanks to his pro-active and result-oriented mind-set, it did not take long before his nickname in the office became "NIKEL" (French for PERFECT).
With his master's degree in Tourism Sciences, he acquired a large knowledge in geography and travel marketing, which he now puts in practice during his daily work.
Ever since he can remember, Mikel has always been interested in soaking up new cultures, experiencing new activities, discovering new landscapes and ... CAPTURING IT! Always with an action camera in hand, he will make your travel memorable, as he is our in-house Steven Spielberg.
With his roots in Spain, Mikel is our multilingual centipede who loves to socialize with everyone and anything!

Adored by the team, she does an excellent job of ensuring that the internal and external accountings run as effectively as possible. Methodical in her approach, she definitely provides accounting peace of mind to Ellen.
Anne enjoys pottering in her garden and appreciates the finer things in life, notably wine and fine dining. At any opportunity she'll have her bags packed and be ready to travel on to her next adventure!
